Kedarnath & Badrinath Do Dham Yatra
Kedarnath & Badrinath Do Dham Yatra
The Do Dham Yatra: Kedarnath & Badrinath is a sacred pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, covering two of the most revered Hindu temples—Kedarnath and Badrinath. The journey begins with Kedarnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, situated at 11,755 ft and accessible via a 16 km trek from Gaurikund or by helicopter. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the Kedarnath Temple holds immense spiritual significance. After seeking blessings, the yatra continues to Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, nestled at 10,170 ft along the Alaknanda River. The temple, part of the Char Dham circuit, is renowned for its vibrant architecture and the sacred Tapt Kund (hot water spring). Along the route, pilgrims also visit important sites like Rudraprayag, Joshimath, and Mana Village (the last Indian village before Tibet). The yatra is best undertaken between May to June and September to October, avoiding the monsoon season due to landslides. Combining spirituality, breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, and devotion, the Do Dham Yatra is a soul-enriching journey for every pilgrim.
